AN-108: Enable WiFi on a DCAP

Configure DCAP to use WiFi

First you will need a USB to serial cable. You can source this from Tehama, Part Number TWA09, for $29.00. This cable is manufactured by FTDI and is guaranteed to work. You may source a similar cable on Amazon, search for “FTDI 3.3V audio” for many off-shore choices, however we’ve received reports that some of these don’t actually work.

Once you have the cable you will need to plug it into your laptop and DCAP. Then go to DCAP>Wifi Configuration Via USB.

Hit Refresh

Hit Scan, then OK

Locate the Wifi Network and enter in the password associated with that network. You may have to put 2.4 in the SSID field. The DCAP only recognizes what your PC is currently using which is usually your 5G and not your 2.4G. The DCAP needs the 2.4G to connect.
